The Department of Economics Annual Report 2023-24 presents an overview of the Department’s major developments, achievements, and initiatives throughout the academic year. These activities were designed to bridge the gap between theory and practical.
1. One-week Economics Internship Programme , 14th June to 21st June 2024
A one-week Economics Internship Programme was organized at Anup Industry, Siddapur, from 14th June to 21st June 2024. The objective of this internship was to provide students with practical exposure to industrial economics and enhance their understanding of economic activities, production processes, cost structures, and market strategies employed in a real-life industrial setup.
The internship programme focused on key aspects such as:
- To understand the functioning and structure of a medium-scale industrial unit.
- To analyze the cost and revenue components of the industry.
- To observe the application of economic theories in production and decision-making.
- To gain insights into labour management and supply chain operations.
- To study the industry’s contribution to the local economy of Siddapur.
All participants received certificates upon completion.
The internship program organized by the Department of Economics has continued to serve as a vital bridge between academic learning and practical experience. Over the past year, our coordinated efforts have successfully placed students in diverse organizations, enabling them to apply economic theories to real-world challenges and gain valuable professional insights.
