Annual Report of Parampara Koota for the Academic Year 2024–25

1. Inauguration of Parampara Koota – 2024-25

The inauguration of Parampara Koota for the year 2024–25 was held on 25th October 2024. The program was inaugurated by Shri K.I. Hegde Targod, Secretary, SPS Siddapur. In his address, he encouraged students to actively participate in all college activities to build confidence and leadership qualities.The chief guest, Shri Shivakumar M.P., Panchayat Development Officer, Sirsi, guided students on career opportunities in the state and central government sectors. He emphasized the importance of hard work and awareness about various online resources for job seekers.Principal Prof. Jagannath Moger presided over the function and appreciated the efforts of Parampara Koota in promoting cultural awareness. He also encouraged students to actively participate in ELC activities to develop their skills.The program began with a prayer song by Preeti Goudar and team, followed by an introductory speech by Chetana M.H., Vice President of the Student Union. Sahana J. Naik welcomed the gathering, and Saniya Riyaz proposed the vote of thanks. The event was anchored by Ashita Gowdar.

2. Outreach Programme – “Kuvempu’s Legacy: Kavimane Bheti for Young          Minds – 2024”

An outreach program titled “Kuvempu’s Legacy: Kavimane Bheti for Young Minds” was organized to provide students with an experiential understanding of the life and works of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu. The visit aimed to inspire students through Kuvempu’s ideals of Vishwa Manava (Universal Humanism) and to deepen their appreciation of Kannada literature and heritage.Students gained valuable insights into Kuvempu’s philosophy and developed a deeper interest in Kannada literature. The visit also enhanced cultural awareness and provided a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom.

3. Ethnic Day and Ruchi Sambhrama Food Fest – 2025

Ethnic Day and Ruchi Sambhrama – the traditional food fest, were celebrated with great enthusiasm to showcase the diversity and richness of Indian culture. The program began with a grand welcome featuring Dollu Kunita, a traditional folk dance form.Introductory speech by Asha NaikDepartment of Economics.The event was inaugurated by Shri V.V. Nayak, who emphasized the importance of preserving cultural traditions in daily life. Dr. S.S. Guttikar, Chief Guest, encouraged students to respect and follow Indian traditions in food, dress, and lifestyle while balancing modern influences.

The food fest saw participation from 13 student teams presenting traditional dishes. The stalls were judged by faculty members, and prizes were awarded as follows:

  • 1st Place: Ashita Gowdar & Team (B.Com III)
  • 2nd Place: Manasa Hegde & Team (B.Com II)
  • 3rd Place: Anjum Sab & Team (B.A III)

Throughout the academic year 2024–25, Parampara Koota successfully organized several cultural and outreach activities that promoted appreciation of heritage, literature, and traditional values among students. These initiatives enriched students’ understanding of their roots and strengthened their sense of cultural identity.
