MGC Arts, Commerce and Ganesh Hegde Dodmane Science College Siddapur, was started in the year 1969 by Shikshana Prasarak Samiti ® Siddapur.
Hon. Shri Ganesh Hegde Dodmane, the founder of this institution who worked relentlessly to build the infrastructure of the college by the support of concurring philanthropist of this area and the support of Shri Ramakrsihna Hegde Dodmane, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Since its inception, the college has served the ideology of the patron shri Ganesh Hegde Dodmane by giving thousands of graduates to the society. Many of them are reached the top position in career and serving the nation in various fields.
The College is Affiliated to Karnataka University Dharwad, and Completed the three cycles of NAAC accreditation with higher grade.
Notable Scholars like Dr. B H Shridhar, founder Principal and Prof. N N Sabhahit, Prof. M A Hegde, Prof. L.G Patil, Prof. T.K Dixit served the college as Principal and laid the ethical and intellectual values in the college.
The College is offering under graduate course in Arts, Commerce and Science subjects. The syllabus is in accordance with the Karnatak University Dharwad. Duration of the UG course is 3 years , i.e six semester.
Apart from academic syllabus the college is emphasising on sports, N S S and extra\curricular activities. Many students emerged as university blues in recent past.
The management under the chairmanship of Shri Vinayakrao G. Hegde and Vice Chairman Dr.Shashibhushan Hegde, has providing infra facilities and supporting the staff to uplift the glory of the college.
