About our College Disciplinary Committee
Our college disciplinary committee aims to maintain a peaceful learning environment by setting rules, handling misconduct through fair inquiries, and enforcing penalties, with outcomes focused on student awareness, good behavior, and overall campus order through corrective, not just punitive, measures. Its objectives include preventing violence, promoting self-discipline, and ensuring rule compliance, while functions involve investigations, counselling, and implementing actions like warnings or suspension, leading to responsible student conduct and a conducive academic atmosphere.
Objectives
- Create a peaceful atmosphere: Ensure a calm and conducive environment for learning.
- Develop self-discipline: Help students internalize rules and become self-regulated.
- Prevent misconduct: Reduce violence, ragging, and other negative behaviors.
- Promote healthy practices: Encourage positive conduct, respect, and adherence to codes.
- Ensure compliance: Uphold college policies and UGC regulations.
Functions
- Rule Formulation & Awareness: Define and communicate conduct rules (e.g., dress code, phone usage, punctuality).
- Monitoring: Observe student behavior, attendance, and adherence to campus rules.
- Investigation: Conduct fair inquiries into complaints of indiscipline.
- Action & Intervention: Issue warnings, counsel students, or recommend appropriate penalties (suspension, etc.).
- Support: Assist anti-ragging committees and guide students on expected behavior.
