Objectives of the Department :
The Department of Hindi was established along with the college in 1969. Hindi the official National language of our Country. It is spoken by one and all. Being the National Language Hindi is the basic and Optional Subject at the degree level. It is helpful. It would definitely come to rescue of the hindi students to communicate fluently with the people in every walk of life.
The students who well versed in hindi may not suffer from the barriers of regional languages. Hindi has been taught at the primary and High school levels. Therefore it is logical that it should be continued even at the college level. The students can be include towards the elegance and beauty of hindi epics and the rich. The varied regional culture of north india.
History of the Department :
The department of hindi is one of the oldest department of the college. In the beginning the department had only MIL subjects. Later optional subjects and minor subjects were also introduced. The department begin with Prof. K.A. Bhat a well known literary figure headed the department for more than decades. He is man of letters. He is known for his diversified intelligence. He is an ideal teacher, well known speaker, noted poet, melodies singer. He is well versed in astrology.
Prof. B.M.Shetty who served the department more than 30 years. She is the senior member of the department. She is hard worker attends the problems of female students and take their personal care. She motivated especially female students to participate in the NSS activities of the college. She got retired in august 2011.
Shobha Shet and vijaylakshmi Hegde are worked few years as lecturer. Dr. Sulochana S. Sukhasare working as Head of the Department since 2008. She completed her Ph.D. thesis on “Hindi ekankini andha Vishwas ek adhyayan” She Completed her M.Phil. thesis on “ Hindi ekankini andha Vishwas”.
