Career Guidance & Placement Cell

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell helps students choose a path, build job-ready skills and meet employers, working closely with the Department of Commerce and the Student Union.

Core goals

  • Maximise placements: secure as many relevant job offers as possible through campus recruitment and industry links.
  • Enhance employability: build professional skills, confidence and readiness for the job market.
  • Bridge industry and academia: build ties with companies, alumni and professional bodies.
  • Empower career choices: help students decide on careers, higher studies or self-employment based on their aptitude.

Key objectives

  • Career counselling on options, strengths, weaknesses and future paths
  • Training in soft skills, technical skills, aptitude tests and interview techniques, including group discussions and mock interviews
  • Guest lectures, workshops, job fairs and industry visits
  • Campus recruitment drives, an employer database and links to job openings
  • Entrepreneurship and start-up awareness
  • Updates on the job market, higher education and competitive exams
  • Mentoring by well-placed alumni

  • 19 Sep 2025 — Career guidance session on Tally and SAP.
  • 14 May 2025 — Career guidance session on accounts and finance careers by Mr. Hidayat, HR Manager, L.C.C. Group of Institutions, Hubballi, for final-year and B.Com II students.
  • 26 Jun 2024 — Online workshop on preparing a financial analysis report by Mr. Sagar G. Bamboli and Mr. Abhinav Algeri (Dharwad) for all final-year B.Com students.
  • 20 Jun 2024 — Session on Tally and SAP by Mr. Hidayat and Mr. Santosh Habib of the L.C.C. Group (30 students).
  • 23 Apr 2024 — One-day workshop on Artificial Intelligence by Sachin Bhat.
  • 11 Dec 2023 — SkillPlus presentation by Deshpande Skilling, Hubballi, led by Mrs. Yashwanti Shindhe (39 students), with team-building activities.
  • 10 Nov 2023 — Career guidance on the Company Secretary course by Shri Dattatraya Joshi (ICSI Bengaluru Chapter) and Shri Vivek Hegde (75 students).
  • 11 Aug 2023 — SkillPlus programme presentation by Shrinivas Naik and team (61 students).
  • 4 Aug 2023 — Campus recruitment drive by ICICI Bank (39 students).
  • 3–5 Jul 2023 — Com-Quest: commerce quiz and crossword competitions.
  • 25 Jun 2022 — Career guidance by Gurudev KAS & IAS Academy, Hubballi (31 students).
  • 22 Jun 2022 — Career guidance by Pragati Vidya Poshak (28 students).
  • Sep 2021 — Workshops on NEP 2020 by Prof. V. Kirankumar and Prof. Chetana M.H.
